welcoming message for Stories Training

"May I extend my warm welcome to you as a participant in the forthcoming Therapeutic Use of Stories for Growth and Healing workshop. The workshop will commence at 9am on the 28th June 2009 at Disted. May I ask you to formulate at least three questions that you have would be relevant to your own personal learning needs and objectives in relation to therapeutic stories, the context of your role and work, etc. As you are aware action learning is what drives the learning activities in this module and therefore the contents, skills and knowledge will have direct relevance to your 'real world'

Can I ask you to create a short fantasy story of no more than one A4 page and bring it to the workshop. We will be using it during the workshop to explore techniques in story making for therapeutic intentions. Can I also ask you to bring an old sock you longer wish to use ... please ensured its laundered first ... some rubber bands etc. We will be making sock puppets characters to use as props during the story telling.

Looking forward to meeting you all. Lastly bring your "creative inner child" and don't forget your sense of humour and play.

Alex"
